The Grove
Financial Giving
A community of people and organisations funding the perpetual guardianship and regeneration of land in Portugal. The grove is organized in 3 flows:
Circle
Core Support
Core Support
GROVE Circle flow is the Foundation’s core custodial work: legal protection, governance, monitoring, and learning. It keeps guardianship possible across generations by strengthening the backbone that protects land and holds accountability.
Funds
Purpose-Bound Capital
Purpose-Bound Capital
GROVE Funds flow channels capital to specific needs in the ecosystem:
Land and Monitoring Funds are managed by the Foundation
The Guardian Fund is independently managed and supports Guardian enterprises by enabling services and resources, rather than direct funding, under agreed terms.
All funds follow strict ethical guidelines, 4‑Returns logic, and transparent reporting.
Legacy
Bespoke Partnerships
Bespoke Partnerships
GROVE Legacy is the flow that enables organizations to co-design and fund multi‑year collaborations, such as research programs, learning pathways, awards, or field‑building initiatives. Each partnership is tailored, but always bounded by the Foundation’s statutes, ethics, and commitment to guardianship.

Offer land or step into responsibility as a long‑term Guardian.
Protecting and regenerating landscapes involve dedicated processes, agreements, and preparation. If you are considering land donation or guardianship, we invite you to explore the relevant sections or connect directly with the Foundation.
Time, Skills & Pro‑Bono Support
Offer your time, expertise, or professional skills in service of the mission.
We welcome people who can contribute time, organisational capacity, or pro‑bono expertise, including legal, communications, fundraising, facilitation, or systems thinking. These contributions strengthen the Foundation’s resilience and allow more resources to flow toward land and guardianship.
Help others discover this work by opening conversations and doors.
Ambassadors help the Terra Agora Foundation grow through relationship and trust. This can include hosting small gatherings, introducing friends or peers, or creating spaces for dialogue about land, guardianship, and regeneration. These personal invitations are often where long‑term support begins.
WHO THIS IS FOR & NEXT STEP
For individuals, families, institutions, and allies who want to contribute to nurturing the land and benefiting life beyond themselves
We will listen, clarify what is possible, and co-design the pathway that best aligns your intentions with the purpose of the Terra Agora Foundation, whether through GROVE Support, Land, Guardianship, Skills, or Ambassadorship.
Regeneration happens where care is held long enough to take root.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you can’t find an answer, just send us a message.
Who monitors and audits what the Foundation spends its money on?
Our spending is subject to a triple-lock system of oversight: legal, statutory, and strategic. Our Fiscal Board monitors all financial activities and include a certified Statutory Auditor who verifies the accuracy of accounts and compliance with the law. A Technical Board audits how the money is used, issuing binding opinions on whether specific expenditures and projects effectively serve the Foundation’s ecological and social mission before they are approved by the Board of Trustees. Finally, we are legally required to report annually to the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (SGPCM).
How much of my donation goes directly to the projects and how much is used for running the Foundation?
We distinguish between operational stability and capital investment to ensure transparency and longevity. If you join ‘The Grove,’ your donation primarily funds our core operations to guarantee the Foundation’s capacity to protect land in perpetuity. Conversely, contributions to our ‘Capital Funds’ for land acquisition or specific projects are allocated 80% directly to those purposes, with the remaining 20% funding the essential operations required to manage and monitor them.
How can our company tailor something specifically to our needs?
Tell us your metrics, and we will identify the landscape and the Guardian that can deliver them. For companies with Net Zero or Nature Positive commitments, we can develop tailored projects ranging from sponsoring an award, driving a market for regenerative products, focusing on a specific community and its needs, or sponsoring an area of innovation.
Is the Foundation available to make a presentation to our decision makers?
We are ready to schedule this immediately. Our Executive team handles these engagements directly to ensure your decision-makers are speaking peer-to-peer with ours
